TRIPLANCE POLICIES
Safety
Effective August 4, 2026 Ā· Last updated August 4, 2026
Triplance is designed to help travelers and independent local guides meet with clearer expectations. Every in-person activity carries risk. These standards explain how we expect everyone to help create a safer experience.
1. Emergency help
Triplance is not an emergency service and does not monitor tours in real time. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 in the United States or the local emergency number where the tour takes place. After reaching emergency services, report the incident through our contact form.
2. Before a tour
- Review the route, duration, physical demands, weather, accessibility information, meeting point, included items, and cancellation rules before booking.
- Share material health, mobility, allergy, or accessibility needs directly with the guide when relevant to safe participation. Do not send medical records or highly sensitive details through the website.
- Use the contact information and meeting location shown in the confirmed booking. Tell a trusted person where you will be when appropriate.
- Travelers and guides must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. A minor may participate only with a parent or legally authorized adult and when the listing allows it.
3. Guide responsibilities
Guides must provide accurate listings, maintain any license, permit, training, insurance, or authorization required for the activity, disclose reasonably foreseeable risks, use suitable meeting locations, keep group size within the published limit, and stop or modify an activity when conditions become unsafe. Guides may not claim that Triplance has certified a skill, background, or safety practice unless Triplance has confirmed that claim in writing.
4. Traveler responsibilities
Travelers must follow reasonable safety instructions, remain within the agreed route or group, use appropriate clothing and equipment, avoid conduct that endangers others, and accurately represent the number and needs of participants. A guide may refuse or end participation when a traveler is impaired, threatening, abusive, or unable to participate safely.
5. Prohibited conduct
Harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, stalking, threats, violence, exploitation, weapons used unlawfully, illegal drugs, human trafficking, unsafe intoxication, theft, fraud, retaliation, and deliberate property damage are prohibited. Users may not pressure another person to move a booking or payment off Triplance in order to avoid protections or fees.
6. Listings, content, and reports
Listings and messages may not contain deceptive, discriminatory, exploitative, illegal, or unsafe material. Triplance may review reports, remove content, restrict communication, pause listings, suspend accounts, preserve relevant records, and cooperate with lawful requests. When the app launches, users will be able to report content and block abusive users; urgent reports may always be submitted through our contact form.
7. Transportation and higher-risk activities
A guide offering transportation or an activity involving heights, water, cycling, vehicles, alcohol, food preparation, strenuous exercise, remote areas, or specialized equipment must clearly identify the risk and meet all applicable legal and insurance requirements. Triplance may require additional documentation or decline categories of activity.
8. No guarantee of safety
Identity checks, reviews, reports, or other safeguards can reduce risk but cannot eliminate it. Triplance does not guarantee the identity, conduct, qualifications, equipment, or safety of a user or experience. Use judgment, leave any situation that feels unsafe, and contact emergency services when necessary.
9. Contact
For non-emergency safety concerns, accessibility questions, or a report about a listing or user, use our contact form. Include the booking or listing reference if available, but do not submit payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Effective August 4, 2026 Ā· Last updated August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Triplance collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information through Triplance.com, our launch-list and contact tools, and the Triplance mobile marketplace when it becomes available.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. We collect information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, message, launch-list request, guide application, support correspondence, and any information included in a future account, profile, listing, booking, review, or safety report.
Technical and usage information. Our hosting and security providers may process IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie or session identifiers, and security logs. Embedded images or services may receive ordinary request data needed to deliver their content.
Future marketplace information. When booking features launch, we may collect account identifiers, profile photos, availability, tour details, communications, booking history, transaction records, approximate or precise location when you choose to provide it, and identity or eligibility information needed for trust, safety, payments, tax, or legal compliance. Payment-card data will be handled by a payment processor such as Stripe; Triplance does not intend to store full card numbers.
2. Sources of information
We obtain information directly from you, automatically from your device and our service providers, from another participant in a booking or report, and from payment, identity, fraud-prevention, communications, hosting, analytics, or public-safety providers when those services are enabled and permitted by law.
3. Why we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the website, app, accounts, listings, bookings, communications, and support.
- Send requested launch updates and operational messages.
- Process bookings, payouts, refunds, fees, taxes, and transaction records when payments launch.
- Verify information, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate safety reports, enforce our policies, and protect users and the public.
- Measure service performance, debug problems, understand aggregate usage, and develop features.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, establish or defend legal claims, and complete a corporate transaction.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to: hosting, database, email, customer-support, security, analytics, identity, payment, tax, and professional-service providers working for us; guides and travelers as reasonably needed for a listing or booking; authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety; and a buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a proposed or completed financing, merger, acquisition, or asset transfer. Providers are expected to use information only for contracted purposes and provide protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide legally required choices before doing so.
5. Notice at collection and retention
| Category | Primary purpose | Retention approach |
|---|---|---|
| Contact and identifiers | Launch list, support, accounts, bookings, safety, and communications | Launch-list records until you unsubscribe or the launch purpose ends; contact messages generally up to 24 months; account data while active and for a reasonable period afterward |
| Technical and usage data | Operation, security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and aggregate measurement | Generally up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed for security, legal, or operational reasons |
| Booking and transaction records | Provide tours, calculate fees and payouts, refunds, tax, accounting, and disputes | For the booking relationship and afterward as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal claims, commonly up to seven years |
| Safety, identity, and compliance records | Trust, safety, eligibility, investigation, and legal compliance | Only as long as reasonably necessary for the risk, legal requirement, or claim involved |
Retention periods may be shorter or longer depending on the nature of the record, user choices, legal requirements, fraud and safety risks, backups, and pending disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it where reasonably practicable.
6. Cookies, tracking, and Do Not Track
Triplance currently uses cookies or similar storage needed for site operation, language and appearance preferences, security, and WordPress administration. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral advertising. Because browsers do not use a single, universally accepted Do Not Track standard, the site does not respond to legacy DNT signals. Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will process it as required. Third-party hosting or embedded-content providers may process technical request data under their own policies.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You may unsubscribe from promotional email through the message instructions or by contacting us. Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to Triplance, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Triplance does not currently sell or share personal information for those purposes.
California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service without retaliation. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted. We may verify a request by confirming control of the relevant email or account and requesting information reasonably necessary to match our records. Submit requests through our contact form. We will respond as required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information we handle. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password when accounts become available and for protecting your devices and credentials.
9. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Account holders and guides must be at least 18. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
10. International use
Triplance is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. We will use legally required transfer safeguards when applicable.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy with a new āLast updatedā date and provide additional notice when a change is material and the law requires it. Earlier versions may be requested by email.
12. Contact
Questions or privacy requests may be submitted through our contact form. Triplance is based in San Francisco, California, United States.
Effective August 4, 2026 Ā· Last updated August 4, 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to Triplance.com, the launch list, contact tools, and the Triplance tour marketplace and mobile application when available. By accessing or using a Triplance service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Current pre-launch scope
The website currently provides information, a launch list, and contact tools. Paid bookings are not yet available. Before paid services launch, Triplance may present additional booking, cancellation, refund, guide, payment, or regional terms. Those additional terms will become part of this agreement when accepted or when you complete the applicable transaction.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to hold an account, publish a tour, make a booking, or receive a payout. You must provide accurate, current information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by Triplanceās breach of duty.
3. Triplanceās role
Triplance provides technology that may help independent guides publish experiences and travelers discover and book them. Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, Triplance is not the guide, tour operator, travel agent, employer, insurer, transportation provider, or owner of a listed experience. Guides control the manner and means of providing their services and are responsible for their listings, qualifications, taxes, permits, insurance, equipment, and compliance with law.
4. Listings and guide obligations
A guide must describe an experience truthfully and completely, including price, duration, meeting point, group limit, language, accessibility, physical demands, inclusions, exclusions, cancellation terms, foreseeable risks, and any age or eligibility restriction. A guide may offer only services the guide is legally permitted and competent to provide. Triplance may request verification, edit formatting, pause a listing, or remove content that is inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, infringing, or inconsistent with our policies.
5. Bookings, pricing, fees, and payment
When booking launches, the traveler will see the tour price, applicable taxes, Triplance fees, and total before confirming. The guide will see the platform fee and expected payout. The current planned guide fee is 10% of each completed booking, capped at $25, after the first five commission-free bookings; any binding fee will be the amount shown and accepted when the listing or booking is created. Payment processing may be provided by Stripe or another processor under that providerās terms. Triplance may correct obvious pricing errors before a booking is accepted.
6. Cancellations, refunds, disputes, and changes
The cancellation and refund rule shown at checkout or in the confirmed booking controls. Weather, safety conditions, illness, force majeure, guide cancellation, traveler lateness, no-shows, and material listing changes may be treated differently. Users must make good-faith efforts to resolve a booking concern through Triplance support. Triplance may issue or deny a refund, adjust a payout, or request evidence according to the applicable policy and law, but does not guarantee a particular outcome.
7. User conduct
You may not use Triplance to break the law; mislead or defraud; harass, discriminate, threaten, exploit, or harm; facilitate trafficking or illegal services; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; scrape or access the service by unauthorized automated means; interfere with security; upload malware; manipulate reviews; create false accounts; or avoid disclosed fees by moving a Triplance-originated booking or payment off platform. Our Safety Standards are part of these Terms.
8. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Triplance a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and accessibility, translate, display, distribute, and use that content to operate, secure, improve, and promote the service and the relevant listing. You represent that you have the necessary rights and that the content is accurate and lawful. You may report objectionable or infringing content through our contact form.
9. Triplance content and intellectual property
The Triplance name, design, software, text, and original content are owned by Triplance or its licensors and protected by law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not grant ownership or permission to use Triplance branding outside the service.
10. Third-party services
The service may link to or use hosting, maps, payment, identity, email, app-store, or other third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies govern their services. Triplance is not responsible for third-party content or systems, but we will select and manage providers with reasonable care appropriate to their role.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Triplance may restrict content or suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, nonpayment, risk to users, repeated complaints, or a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond. Provisions that by nature should survive terminationāincluding payment obligations, licenses already granted, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute termsāwill survive.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED āAS ISā AND āAS AVAILABLE.ā TRIPLANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT A LISTING, GUIDE, TRAVELER, REVIEW, AVAILABILITY, IDENTITY CHECK, TOUR, ROUTE, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, SAFE, AVAILABLE, OR SUITABLE. IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES INVOLVE INHERENT RISKS. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES WARRANTIES OR RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LEGALLY BE EXCLUDED.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRIPLANCE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. TRIPLANCEāS TOTAL LIABILITY FOR A CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO TRIPLANCE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR TRIPLANCEāS FRAUD, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE WHERE APPLICABLE.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Triplance and its personnel harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your listing, content, tour, conduct, violation of law, or material breach of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Triplanceās own breach, negligence, or misconduct.
15. Governing law and disputes
California law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you and Triplance agree to send a written description to the other party and make a good-faith effort for 30 days to resolve it informally. Unless applicable consumer law allows another venue, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. Either party may use an eligible small-claims court. Nothing here prevents a party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or reporting a matter to a regulator or law-enforcement agency.
16. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will post the revised version with a new date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; Triplance may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.
17. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent through our contact form. Triplance is based in San Francisco, California, United States.
